Yonatan leads Upstream’s product development with 20 years of technology development and product management experience in industry-leading multinational companies. He has extensive experience in cybersecurity innovation from his tenure at Check Point and Imperva, as well as experience in developing enterprise-grade cloud-based analytics technologies from his time at Microsoft. Yonatan holds a BA in Computer Science from the Open University of Israel and an LLB from Tel Aviv University.

Dr. Christoph Bösch received his M.Sc. degree in IT-Security from the Ruhr-University Bochum in 2008. In 2015, he completed his Ph.D. degree in the Databases and the Distributed & Embedded Security research groups at the University of Twente. Since then he is working as a Postdoc in the Institute of Distributed Systems at Ulm University. His research focuses on applied cryptography, privacy engineering, and privacy enhancing technologies.

Karina Dorozhkina is a Senior Developer in the Transportation Security Development Team at Kaspersky. She made numerous research and prototypes for a secure car gateway, CAN bus protection, detection&response solutions based on such platforms as GENIVI, AGL, QNX, Android, Kaspersky OS including cooperation with automotive vendors. Her main interest now is securing infotainment and communications control as one of the most modern car’s vulnerable units. Being involved in the automotive development, Karina also is an active C++ Russia Conference speaker.

Sebastian Fischmeister is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Executive Director of the Waterloo Centre for Automotive Research (WatCAR), and NSERC/Magna Industrial Research Chair. Sebastian has 20 years of experience in R&D of safety-critical real-time embedded systems and delivered innovation to real-time communication, timing analysis, runtime verification, as well as safety and security monitoring.

Brian Gorenc is the Sr. Director of Vulnerability Research with Trend Micro. In this role, Gorenc leads the Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) program, which represents the world’s largest vendor-agnostic bug bounty program. The ZDI works to expose and remediate weaknesses in the world’s most popular software. Brian is also responsible for organizing and adjudicating the ever-popular Pwn2Own hacking competitions.

Tim Güneysu is full professor and head of the chair for Security Engineering at Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany. Since 2016 he is professor at the department for Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Bremen. His primary research topics targeting all aspects of secure system engineering with particular focus on applied security and cryptography, the design of security architectures of modern computing systems, with particular focus on hardware security.

Stefan Katzenbeisser is a Professor at University of Passau, holding the chair for Computer Engineering. He is also co-founder of INCYDE GmbH, focussing on security solutions in the railway domain. His research interests include applied cryptography, the protection of critical infrastructures and privacy. Previous to joining Passau, he was with TU Darmstadt and Philips Research..

Efstathia Katsigianni is working as an IT Security consultant at ESCRYPT GmbH in Berlin. In the last two years, she has worked in different IT security projects in the automotive sector and since December 2019 she has been working on a funded project regarding the creation of a post quantum PKI, also leading the project inside ESCRYPT. In 2018 Efstathia obtained a doctoral degree in mathematics, specifically in the area of arithmetic geometry.

Dr. Ioannis Krontiris is a senior research engineer at the European Research Center of Huawei in Munich, Germany. He has a Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science from University of Mannheim in Germany, and a M.Sc. Degree in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University in USA. His research interests include Privacy by Design and Privacy Enhancing Technologies, and their integration into pervasive systems and services. He has been a member of the 5GAA Security and Privacy WG since 2018.

Sekar Kulandaivel is an ECE PhD candidate at Carnegie Mellon, where he is advised by Vyas Sekar and has research appearing in IEEE S&P `21 and USENIX Security `19. He received his BS in 2016 from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude as a Meyerhoff Premier Scholar and an Outstanding Senior with Honors. Sekar has interned at Bosch RTC-NA, STEER Tech and MIT Lincoln Lab on projects related to his interest in automotive network and systems security.

Falk Langer graduated its PhD in computer since at University Augsburg in 2015. From 2006 to 2014 he was working as research assistant ta Fraunhofer Institute for Embedded Systems and Communication Technologies ESK in Munich. From 2014 he is team-manager at IAV GmbH responsible for automotive software development with focus on safety and security. Since 2020 he holds an endowment professorship for “Connectivity and Services Automotive Software” at University of Applied Sciences Mittweida.

Dirk Leopold is regional manager of itemis AG. He is responsible for the security risk analysis solution “Yakindu Security Analyst” and represents itemis AG in the German R&D Project SecForCARs. After graduating at TU Darmstadt with a joint Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration (Dipl. Wirtsch. Ing.) he held national and international positions in various industries. At FOM University of Applied Sciences he lectures in the areas of E-Commerce and Mobile Computing.

Moritz Minzlaff is a senior manager & consultant at ESCRYPT in Berlin. He has more than a decade of experience in cybersecurity. Moritz focuses on advancing his clients' organizational and technological cybermaturity following UNECE WP.29 and similar frameworks. He has successfully worked with automotive OEMs and suppliers from Asia, Europe, and North America. Among others, he introduced a new tuning protection PKI at a global top 5 supplier. He also co-developed and applied a joint safety & security certification. In 2013, Moritz obtained a PhD for his research in curve cryptography.

Dr. Martin Moser received his diploma in Business Mathematics at the University of Augsburg in 2008 and finished his PhD in Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich in 2012. After that he started working as a Security Engineer and Project Manager at ESCRYPT in Munich, where he successfully worked on many different projects in the area of automotive security. In 2015 he took over responsibility over the ESCRYPT branch in Munich as Head of Security Consulting and Testing Munich. He is leading the technical group in Munich consisting of security consulting and testing teams and is responsible for the field of security testing at ESCRYPT worldwide.

Colin O'Flynn has been building and breaking embedded systems for ten years, the more recent years being dedicated to work on breaking them with advanced attacks such as power analysis and fault injection. As part of his PhD he built the open-source ChipWhisperer project, which is now the foundation of his company NewAE Technology Inc. He lives in Halifax, Canada where he is also with Dalhousie University as an assistant professor to continue teaching and research on embedded device security.

Since 1994, Prof. Pelzl works in the area of IT-Security. He successfully accomplished many national and international projects and released numerous related publications at renowned international conferences and in journals. Prof. Pelzl is author of “Understanding Cryptography”, one of the leading textbooks for cryptography. From 2007 till 2014, Prof. Pelzl was Managing Director of ESCRYPT GmbH, a subsidiary of the Robert Bosch GmbH. Since January 2015, Jan Pelzl is Professor for Computer Security and Cyber Security at the University of Applied Sciences of Hamm-Lippstadt. Research areas include IT-Security in automotive, automation and medical devices.

Thomas Pöppelmann received his PhD from Ruhr University Bochum, Germany focusing on the topic of post-quantum cryptography (PQC). In 2015, Thomas started his career in Infineon working in the field of concepts for security microcontrollers. He has published a number of academic papers and co-developed the "New Hope" approach for PQC. For "New Hope" he and his co-researchers received the 2016 Internet Defense Prize from Usenix and Facebook.

Arne Schönbohm took up his position as president of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) on 18. February 2016. Arne Schönbohm (born 1969 in Hamburg) studied international business administration at the International School of Management in Dortmund, as well as in London and Taipei. Between 1995 and 2008 he held several senior positions within EADS Germany, now Airbus, most recently as Vice President Commercial and Defence Solutions for EADS Secure Networks. From 2008 to 2016 he was Chief Executive Officer of BSS BuCET Shared Services AG (BSS AG), which advises companies and public authorities in the fields of digitalisation, cyber security and data protection. In addition to this activity, Arne Schönbohm served, beginning in August 2012, for more than three years as president of Cyber-Sicherheitsrat Deutschland e.V., a Berlin-based politically neutral association, that has set itself the task of advising companies, public authorities and policymakers on matters of cyber security and strengthening them for the fight against cybercrime. He is also the author of various books, including “Deutschlands Sicherheit – Cybercrime and Cyberwar” (2011).

Frank Schuhmacher is head of SEGRIDS GmbH specialized in embedded security. After a phd in mathematics at the University of Grenoble, Frank Schuhmacher started his industrial career at the T-Systems Common Criteria evaluation Lab. In 2014, he achieved the first rank in the international side channel competition "DPA contest (v4)". Since then, SEGRIDS is working mainly for IC manufacturers, and accompanied numerous development projects of secure hardware elements.

Paul Staat received his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering in 2016 and his M.Sc. degree in communication systems and networks in 2018 from the University of Applied Sciences Cologne. He is currently working towards a Ph.D. degree under supervision of Christof Paar at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy in Bochum. His research interests include physical layer security and tamper resistant hardware with particular focus on radio frequency systems and digital signal processing.

Graduated from Technical University Braunschweig in the field of automotive engineering in 2016 and started working as an Automotive Development Engineer for IAV GmbH. The main focus for two years was on connected functions and in-vehicle communication – which covers the communication design as well as timing and performance evaluation of such. Since March 2019 this focus shifts into the field of electric/electronic architecture design and on-board application platforms.

Dr. André Weimerskirch is Vice President Cybersecurity and Functional Safety at Lear Corporation. Before that, André established the transportation cyber security group at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute (UMTRI), and co-founded the embedded systems security company ESCRYPT which was sold to Bosch in 2012. André is active in all areas of automotive and transportation cybersecurity and privacy, he is a main designer of the American vehicle-to-vehicle SCMS security system, published numerous articles in automotive and embedded cyber security, is co-founder of the American workshop on embedded security in cars (escar USA), and chairs the Mcity cybersecurity working group at the University of Michigan.
