The future of IT Security in automobiles will be written again in 2013!

Due to escar’s international success, in 2013 escar will be organized the first time in two locations – Frankfurt/Germany for EUROPE and Detroit/USA. 

Modern cars have become complex digital devices, and automotive cyber security recently gained rapid attention. The overall goal and objective of the escar will be to provide a forum to provide collaboration among private industry, academia, and government regarding modern in-vehicle cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and risk mitigation/countermeasures. There are many Vehicle Cyber Security initiatives in the US and Europe with on-going and planned Vehicle Cyber Security Projects. The escar will provide the opportunity for information exchange, networking, and collaboration among your peers and a forum to define research needs.

The German escar is the leading automotive cyber-security workshop and just had its 10^th anniversary. Togther with ESCRYPT and the Horst-Görtz-Institution at the Ruhr-University in Bochum we engage in the topic with analysis of the threat, actual and possible attacks, development reports and possibilities of protection. International and high-quality referents give recent insights and encourage discussions.
